Jasta describes his songs

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “I wonder what Jamey Jasta‘s upcoming solo album is going to sound like?” Wow, it’s like Jamey Jasta is just reading your mind, because guess what he’s gone and done? He’s only gone and done a video in which he offers some song descriptions. Amazing right?

You can check out the video above, but you should have worked that one out for yourselves by now. Geeze, I’m not your mother!

Jasta and Wylde sitting in a tree…

There’s nothing new about the concept of Jasta releasing his songs over the interwebz as he’s done it before, but this new track is with Zakk Wylde so, check it out if you’re a fan.

Here’s some info I got from Blabbermouth because I’m way too lazy to research it myself:

“The Fearless Must Endure, a brand new solo track by Jamey Jasta, can be streamed [online]. The song, which features a guest appearance by Zakk Wylde, comes off Jasta’s solo album, simply titled Jasta, which is scheduled for release on July 26 via eOne Music. The CD will be made available in Europe one day earlier through Century Media Records.

Get it? Got it? Good. Make the jump to hear it.

Weak Recap: Yes we can, bitch!

A few months ago, I had a dream. A dream that we could recap our weeks on Sunday without falling in the blog cliche of just making a list of some of our articles. And my creativity and my egomania had sex and came up with the offspring that is The Weak Recap.

Basically we recap the week by interviewing each other. It feeds our egos and it’s letting you know how awesome we’ve been the week before.

So now it’s my turn to interview NFL legend, influential guitarist and all-around amazing metal bloger, Simo. After the jump.

Stream the new Jamey Jasta track

A brand new track from Jamey Jasta’s forthcoming solo album can be streamed over at ARTISTdirect. The song is called ‘Mourn The Illusion’ and is pretty damn good.

I’m definitely going to have to check out Jasta‘s solo album when it comes out (July 26th for those interested). It’s on my list of things to do right after ‘losing my virginity.’

Headlines!

It’s time for more headlines. News that aren’t worth individual posts. Wait, I shouldn’t have said that, right? Oh well…

Adler’s Appetite revealed their new line-up. Problem is, I didn’t even know who was in the band before and well, I don’t give a shit either. But anyhow, Patrick Stone is their new vocalist and Lonnie Paul will be playing the guitar from now on. Woop de doo.

All Shall Perish announced the title of their upcoming album and it’s going to be called… drumroll please… ‘This Is Where It Ends’ and I can only hope so.

When asked how far into writing a new album Mastodon have been so far, Brann Dailor (drums) said this in an interview:

“It’s coming along really good. We’re just about done. I’m excited to get into the studio and start recording.”

Jamey Jasta recently talked a bit about his upcoming solo album. Here’s what he had to say:

“It’s just more of the thrash and rock element in it. I think there’s a lot more clean singing than I’m used to doing. It’s a lot of stuff that I recorded for other artists, but it ended up sounding cool so I just left it in there. My engineer was really liking the stuff that I was doing. I still have a lot of guest parts on there — Randy Blythe from Lamb of God, Zakk Wylde, Phil Labonte , Tim from As I Lay Dying, Mark Morton from Lamb of God — so it’s just like a fun project before we do the next Hatebreed album.”

And last but not least, the Big Four were presented with double platinum (pictured above) plaques for the Big Four DVD. Picture of the happy guys after the jump.
