(Hed)P.E. tell us the truth

We here at Dose of Metal are saddened to hear that self-proclaimers of the idiotic “truth movement”, HeDPE Y’aLL (or something or like that) have announced yet another album.

The guys that watched Zeitgeist once and now think they’re geniuses have set an October 26 release date for their new album, the arrogantly titled, Truth Rising.

So if any of you are lucky enough to have never heard (Hed)P.E. before, you’re probably wondering what the soundtrack to this amazing truth movement is, right? Well, the answer is a bunch of generic Nu-Metal riffs thrown together with some idiot “rapping” over the top about 9/11.

The album is set to have 22 tracks, because like Linkin Park, (Hed)P.E can’t write songs longer than 2 minutes.

More here.

Remember Anthrax on Married With Children?

I’ve been on a big “Married With Children” kick as of late, watching a ridiculous amount of episodes.  I have many favourite  classic moments, but one that always comes to mind immediately, is when 80s thrash heads, “Anthrax,” were on the show.

If you haven’t seen that episode and want a brief explanation on it or just want to watch the 8 minute clip with Anthrax, then read on after the jump.

Want to play guitar like Jaymz?

Then buy his signature picks, yo!

Preferring picks with a bright tone and biting attack, Hetfield looked to Dunlop for the perfect tool for his fierce downward picking style.

Fuck practicing 5 hours a day and actually having talent. Buying these picks is all you need. More info after the jump

Blitzkritik: Serj Tankian – Imperfect Harmonies

Alright, so you know the score. Blitzkritik means I listen to an album and write the review as I go through it. Fast. To the point. Superficial. Subjective. Lame. Everything a review has to be. Here we go.

I’m not gonna beat around the bush… I’ve always hated Serj, but not necessarily ‘Serj the Musician,’ although he is pretentious and condescending with his music, but mostly ‘Serj, the propagandist.’

I just find it completely lame that he wasn’t born in the United States, but went there as child, met his future bandmates, got rich and famous, and now is criticizing the very country that made it all possible. I have an idea, why don’t you go back to Armenia?

Anyways, he’s released a solo album. Will I like it? Probably not, but who knows?

Stone Temple Pilots do fans a favor

According to El Paso Times, the Stone Temple Pilots concert scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, September 21) at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas has been “postponed.

It is thought that the reason behind the postponement is Scott Weiland sparing his fans of another God-awful gig. See? Some rockstars care about their fans.
