Spotlight: Cauldron, Rival Sons, New Noise Attack

I know I plug it every week but for those of you who are knew to the site, we have a form for bands who would like to get their work reviewed here. Email us there, be patient and you might see your band on the next edition of Spotlight.

This week, just like last week, we’re going for already signed bands who either submitted the albums themselves or through their labels. Also, I’ll be reviewing Earache Records’ new sampler ‘New Noise Attack MMXI,’ that features some of their best bands. Check out this week’s Spotlight reviews after the jump.

White Headlines

White Wizzard (pictured above) covered “We Rock” and then offered it for free download. You can get it here, but be warned, you have to sign up with your email. It’s a trick. Don’t do it!!!

The clown from Slipknot went to Sirius for an interview. Did he wear his stupid mask? Of course he did. Anyways, he pretty much says the band is moving forward without Paul (shocking, I know) and other stuff I didn’t really pay attention to cause I’m drawing tits in Photoshop. Watch the video after the jump.

“Married to Rock” is a new reality series that follows the lives of three “rock star wives.” These chicks are married to members of Velvet Revolver and Jane’s Addiction, so my question is, what rockers are they talking about?

Bret Michaels was on Ellen to talk about… wait for it… his ‘health.’ Didn’t see that one coming, did you? Watch the video after the jump if you still haven’t gotten sick of his ramblings about his stroke like the rest of us.

Headlines

Shinedown (pictured above, unfortunately) will release a ‘deluxe edition’ (read: shameless milker) of their 2008 smash non-hit “The Sound Of Madness.” The release date is November 23rd, blah blah, it will have nine bonus songs, blah blah, overall buy it if you want, don’t buy it if you don’t… Who am I to tell you what to do?

Apparently Americans like bands with silly masks, as Mushroomhead’s album is in the U.S. Top 50 chart. Well, at #44, but still, pretty good for some guys who look like the gimp in Pulp Fiction. It sold over 11,000 copies in its first week of release and this begs the question… How come my band ‘Sexy Clowns From Hell’ never got popular? Unfair.

White Wizzard released a song in tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio. Check it out on their MySpace page. It’s called “Shooting Star” and it’s the first song featuring their new vocalist. Sorry, couldn’t be bothered remembering his name 🙁
