Clowns settle feud

Mushroomhead and Slipknot have two things in common. Both bands wear masks. Both bands make bad music. So obviously, fan wars ensue.

Mushroomhead fans are annoyed because their favorite band ‘were first,’ as if wearing those shitty masks ‘first’ is any kind of achievement. Slipknot fans are annoyed because their IQ matches their age.

But according to a recent interview with the ‘original’ gimmicky band, the beef is non-existent now and then my mind drifted off to a different place because who the fuck cares?

If you do, make the jump for the video interview. Then never talk to me again.

Headlines

Shinedown (pictured above, unfortunately) will release a ‘deluxe edition’ (read: shameless milker) of their 2008 smash non-hit “The Sound Of Madness.” The release date is November 23rd, blah blah, it will have nine bonus songs, blah blah, overall buy it if you want, don’t buy it if you don’t… Who am I to tell you what to do?

Apparently Americans like bands with silly masks, as Mushroomhead’s album is in the U.S. Top 50 chart. Well, at #44, but still, pretty good for some guys who look like the gimp in Pulp Fiction. It sold over 11,000 copies in its first week of release and this begs the question… How come my band ‘Sexy Clowns From Hell’ never got popular? Unfair.

White Wizzard released a song in tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio. Check it out on their MySpace page. It’s called “Shooting Star” and it’s the first song featuring their new vocalist. Sorry, couldn’t be bothered remembering his name 🙁

Masked Metallers Interviewed

No, not Slipknot, but their carbon copy, Mushroomhead, that some how managed to rip off Slipknot 5 years before they formed.

Apparently the oh so original band write, produce and record all of their own material themselves with no outside help, which can really explain a lot.

If you’re interested in where Mushroomhead get the inspiration for their masks from (*cough* Slipknot *cough*), you can find out in the interview after the jump.

Mushroomhead still exist?

Super original masked (face-painted?) Metallers, Slipknot Mushroomhead, have shocked people across the world, by not only showing that they still exist, but that they also have a new album out, titled Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children. Guess it describes Mushroomhead fans perfectly – Not very nice of the ‘shroomyheads to say though. Ouch.  The entire album is available for streaming at AOL Music.

Check out the Slipknot Mushroomhead video preview after the jump.
