Animals As Leaders posted a new track online

Animals As Leaders, the band that you’ve heard your metal hipster friend tell you about last year, have a new album, Weightless, coming out soon, and you must know that because I’ve bored you with it on a couple of occasions.
What better way to preview it than to listen to a track they just posted online at LA Weekly? Yeah, you can wait for like a day or something to listen to it on Spotify or whatever, but hey money is time and I’ve just wasted a few cents.
You can find the track at the link I posted above, you can find my sense of humor in the reverse universe of this one, and you can post a comment in the form below.

Hey look, I just came up with my own verb, adjective and noun, sort of like the people who came up with djent came up with their own genre! #notreally #noonecares #justcallitprogressive
Besides using hashtags in the middle of the post, where they serve #nopurpose, there’s actually something worth reading here: I’ve just found the samples for Animals As Leaders new album, Weightless! (via: ThePRP)
You can listen to them over at Amazon.co.uk, and you can see the album cover after you make the jump.
Animals As Leaders reveal album tracklist

Wow, it feels like it’s been days since my last Animals As Leaders news post. Well, the injustice has been fixed, and I can bore you some more.
The band has revealed the tracklist for the recently announced Weightless, and thanks to ThePRP, you can see it here as well. Copy/paste news, ????, profit, Simo’s own blow-up doll!
The album tracklist:
01 – “An Infinite Regression”
02 – “Odessa”
03 – “Somnarium”
04 – “Earth Departure”
05 – “Isolated Incidents”
06 – “Do Not Go Gently”
07 – “New Eden”
08 – “Cylindrical Sea”
09 – “Espera”
10 – “To Lead You To An Overwhelming Question”
11 – “Weightless”

My favorite song title would be “Do Not Go Djently.” ![]()
Weightless in November

Last week we got the new Animals As Leaders album title – Weightless – and this week, thanks to ThePRP, we get the release date(s).
The dates are following:
- November 4 (Mainland Europe)
- November 7 (United Kingdom)
- November 8 (Unites States)
The rest of the world can suck it, obviously. Anyway, November is right around the corner, so we can probably expect a single or some previews soon, which is nice.
Weak Recap: Solo style

Hey, it’s another Sunday, and you know what that means, time for your favorite weekly interview. The one we do with each other.
Except, you’re not getting one.
Apparently, other people at Dose of Metal obviously have this thing called “life” and they’re too busy with their “girlfriends.” You know where that leaves me? Same place I was last week — alone in the room, wishing I had enough money to buy myself a plastic one.
I’m just kidding, blow up dolls are for pussies, real men pleasure themselves. And by that, I don’t mean I can reach my penis with my mouth. I just make the best use of my hands. Speaking of my hands and wonderful results, make the jump to read my solo recap.
New Animals As Leaders album gets a name

Now that we’re done with the Corey Taylor drama, let’s talk about people with actual talent. Animals As Leaders have revealed the name for their new album, and the name is Weightless. The album will be out some time before the end of the year or some time in the fall. The sooner the better.
Tuesday Trivia: Scene sandwich

Oh, the things I do for this website. Remember a few months back when I got some help from a friend and did an article on djent? Well, that was actually kinda fun, because I got to ‘know’ Animals As Leaders better and I truly think they’re an awesome band.
What is definitely not that much of fun is doing this one today. Taking into account that djent is popular in the scene masses, I took another typical scene genre, did a quick Google search and hoped it would yield results, and holy shit, here’s another Tuesday Trivia covering things that will most likely annoy you. But someone’s gotta do it.
You win some, you lose some

Napalm Death have a new song! Yay! But they split with their label… Nay? I have no idea what’s going on, but apparently they’re no longer with Century Media. New album is still scheduled to be recorded in May, and the new song “Legacy Was Yesterday” will be available through Decibel magazine’s flexi disc series, for those of you stuck in dark ages using CD players and reading magazines. Everyone else, just make the jump and listen to it straight away.
But wait, there’s more!
Otep also have a new song. That’s the losing part from the post title. I checked the song preview and turned it off when I realized the were no pictures of Otep Shamaya in it, just some album artwork and crappy music.
And last, and probably least to majority of people, djent heroes Animals As Leaders found a new home. No, it’s not a dog shelter, they signed with Sumerian Records.
Tuesday Trivia: Got djent?

Yeah, got djent? Do you even know what the fuck djent is? Well, read on and find out.
