Slipknot will continue ‘with or without Corey’

I have absolutely no idea whether this is new news, old news, footage from the future, or if I’m just drunk, but I’ve stumbled across an interview with Joey Jordison in regards to Slipknot‘s future, and he sounds either in a rush, or a little bit pissed…

Joey claims that the band is ready to continue as a band, both touring and with new music, with or without frontman Corey Taylor. Hopefully without… Maybe then we can get more music like this, and less like this.

Joey flees the murder scene

Joey Jordison was recently spotted running from a murder scene. The murder being that of music, and the scene being a Murderdolls gig. Perhaps he had decided that enough was enough, and he could no longer sit back and partake in such awful music. Or perhaps it was just the fact that he was pissed off at “technical difficulties” – at least that’s the “reason” the band are citing…

Joey stormed off stage twice during the Bordeaux gig, with the band having to finish the song without him the second time. The “hilarious” footage (it’s not that funny actually. Want funny, watch Lostprophets trying to do a ‘wall of death’) can be seen after the jump.

Some headlines, yo

Whitesnake (pictured above) have a new album in the works. It’s called “Forevermore” and David Coverdale had this to say about the title: “Don’t forget, ’tis ONE word.” It’s pretty hard not to forget that, David, as I don’t really care and neither does most of the world.

Joey Jordison is on the cover of Rhythm Magazine and you can get it here.  I know what you’re asking yourself: Should I get it? Well, aside from an in-depth look at his gear, Joey also talks about his many projects. In other words, no, no you shouldn’t.

The Damned Things‘ debut album sold 6,200 copies in the United States in the first week of release. It’s apparently #1 on the Top New Artist Albums chart which means out of all of the noobs, they’re the best selling. Not bad for a band with members of Fall Out Boy in it.

Pantera and Damageplan roadie John Graham tells his story working with Dime in both of his bands, as well as being a roommate with Vinnie and other stuff. Read interview here.

Dummies Hall of Fame

It doesn’t come as a surprise that none other than Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, among 10 others, like Neil Peart of Rush, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle, will be inducted into the Dummies Hall of Fame this year.

What an honor it must be to be inducted into this elitist Hall of Fame, next to George Costanza, Zach Braff and Vin Diesel.

You can only take a joke so far and I already took it too far after typing in the title for this article. No, it’s not called Dummies, but Drummies Hall of Fame (whoever came up with that name deserves to be inducted into the Dummies Hall of Fame though).

You want serious news? Well, go to the site where I stole this news from.

Corey Taylor has no plans for Slipknot

Despite the fact Joey Jordison has claimed that work on a new Slipknot album has begun, with the band recording in early 2011, Corey ‘I am the great big mouth’ Taylor has contradicted Joey‘s words, claiming that neither he, or “at least 5 other members” have any plans to work on a new Slipknot album.

“Before anyone gets the wrong idea, let me be clear. I have NO PLANS to make a new Slipknot album anytime soon,” said Taylor. “Shows? Maybe. Album? No. As for Joey’s comments, he took that on himself to say that in print. I can think of five people in this band who haven’t written/heard a thing.”

I seem to remember the same nonesense happening before recording both Vol 3 and All Hope is Gone though. In fact, it always seems to be Joey that’s psyched to start work on new Slipknot albums, but Corey is always too busy singing soppy ballads and being a pop star.
