Disturbed frontman grants me my wish

For years, since I heard ‘Down With the Sickness’, I had dreamed of the day Disturbed would break up and never return, and it looks like singer David Draiman may just grant me that wish.

Responding to a fan via Twitter when asked if it’s true that Disturbed might break up, Draiman replied “We don’t know what we’re doing yet. All I can tell you is that we will be gone for quite a while.”

Yes, thank you God science! Thank you. I can only hope this “break” becomes more permanent. For more information on the band’s possible demise, check out Blabbermouth.

Disturbed do it for themselves

Disturbed write music for themselves yo. That’s the claim guitarist Dan Donegan makes in a recent interview with Gibson.com.

Gibson.com: “Congrats on Asylum being Disturbed‘s fourth consecutive #1 debut. Did you feel, as you were writing the album, it would do well?”
Dan: To be honest, we felt that. We don’t second-guess what it is that’s working or what the fans or label or anybody else is expecting from us. We just write music for ourselves.”

Thank God Disturbed write music for themselves, because if they were writing it for, say me, I’d have to say they’re really failing. Now, what would make this perfect, is if they could really take this “making music for ourselves” thing that one step further, and literally just don’t released any more music to the public. If you could do that for me guys, that would be great thanks.

Yahoooo

Some fucking brilliant news for all you Metalheads this morning, Disturbed frontman David Draiman has announced the band will take a break after their South American tour. I mean it’s a bit shit for you South American guys out there, but just think, you only have to endure one last tour and then you can kiss this band goodbye, for at least a while. Disturbed have been disturbing me (I’m hilarious right?) for years with their music, so I’m looking forward to this absence, even if it’s just a break.

Seriously, life could not get any better than this right now. Well, apart from if I got a real job, or a girlfriend, some money would be nice too, perhaps a car, some friends, but they’re all on my list after “Disturbed stop making music”.

Dave is gonna be busy this summer

After news broke that The Big Four would only do one U.S. show, many gullible hopeful fans were expecting more dates to be added. Well, maybe this news will make them reconsider, as Dave and co. will be busy this summer with their own tour.

Disturbed and Godsmack are rumored to be topping the bill on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour, which is expected to kick off sometime in July. Also scheduled to appear are Megadeth, Machine Head, In Flames, Suicide Silence and Unearth, among others. writes Blabbermouth. Full details tomorrow, January 26th.

Tough luck, guys. Seems like Megadeth is busy touring with Disturbed and Godsmack… Who cares about Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, right? Maybe you get lucky and Sully Erna performs some of his amazing solo stuff, too. Fingers crossed!

Disturbed let you in on their secret

Disturbed

Another nu metal post, you might be thinking. Well, it seems it’s (the) shit right now, and we’re all about selling out and following trends. Which reminds me, it’s time to cut my scene hair and find my old red cap and baggy pants.

But I digress… Disturbed drummer Mike Wengren decided to let us in on the secret behind their success. I was ready to place my bet on the fact that they might hide an actual dog in the studio which records “vocals” for half their songs, but his version is different — he says they’re successful because they don’t have filler songs.

“That’s not the way we go,” Wengren told RockAAA.com. “We feel like every song on the record could be a single, and our fans know that. They know when the buy a record of ours they are going to get a full package, they know we won’t let them down and they don’t let us down either. Our fans are very loyal and very passionate about us.”

Well, I guess in a way, he’s right, there are no “filler” songs because all the songs are of similar (low) quality. But I’m just being mean now. They’re also re-releasing their first album, which I guess means they don’t do filler albums either. Or am I really just telling the truth?
