Korn “virtual” meet-and-greet

Nu-Metal creators, Korn are apparently set to take place in a “virtual” meet-and-greet tonight. Presumably this will be with some “virtual fans” too. A bit like Virtual Pets, only I’m guessing Korn will be answering some “virtual” questions, rather than “feeding” the fans and “cleaning” up their shit.

But in all seriousness, I have this completely wrong. All this “virtual meet-and-greet” is, is a meet-and-greet done via the amazing powers of the internet. Korn wouldn’t have to make up some virtual fans, of course..

Anyways, if you actually want some details on this amazing event (that’s some virtual sarcasm BTW), then you can find more information here.

Review: The Damned Things – Ironiclast

The Damned Things

The Damned Things, the love child of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die members, closed the year with their debut release, “Ironiclast.”

About a month after, we avoid the hype and examine whether or not this baby should have been aborted, and if it’s worth your money (or at least your time).

Muse are worried

Muse

When I read about Muse complaining about their high powered live shows, I immediately thought the band are on a quest to go green and lecture us about it along the way or something. I was wrong.

Rockers Muse worry about the effects their elaborate stage shows have on their health – they’re convinced their powerful lasers will one day blind them.

“We got some big white balloons, threw them into the audience and decided to focus the lasers on them. It was like a slow burn that gradually disintegrated them into nothing. We all thought, ‘What the hell will our corneas be like in 20 years?’” drummer Dominic Howard said. “We could end up like that amazing vocal group the Blind Boys of Alabama – getting around doing it really well but not seeing anything.”

I don’t know what their corneas might look like in 20 years, but “Suppermassive Black Hole” might get a new meaning.

Blood Red Throne give updates

Are you a fan of Blood Red Throne (and if the answer to that is no, why not?) and excited for some major exclusive updates? Then sorry to disappoint you, and sorry to get your hopes up, but the band do indeed have, at least, some words for 2011.

The band toured a lot last year (apparently with Dimmu Borgir for some reason, and Enslaved) and Blood Red Throne have mentioned how great this was for them, but also discuss their plans for 2011, which can be read below.

“As for 2011, Død has written five new killer tunes for an upcoming album. We’re returning to Mexico the first weekend in June, playing a festival with Sepultura. In August, we’re playing with Morbid Angel, Vader, Gorguts and Nevermore at the Brutal Assault Festival!”

More information can be found here.

Interview: Peter Dolving (The Haunted)

Thanks to Stefan Franke of Century Media, I got to interview Peter Dolving, vocalist of The Haunted. I’m really anxious to get this one posted because it turned into my favorite interview so far, simply because it’s funny as hell. A huge thank you goes to Dolving for playing and joking along. I’ve had the complete opposite in other interviews and I’m glad he joined in on the fun.

Take into account that I sent these following questions before Christmas last year and he answered them after Christmas. Make the jump to read on.
