Bring Me The Horizon just got a bit better

Bring Me The Horizon

How, you may ask? Did they finally step out of puberty and got some proper vocals (seriously, look at that picture, they look 13)? Did they sell their soul to Satan and got some mad skills overnight?

No and no. The only way this band can become better, is if it stops playing, and that’s what going to happen — their drummer Matt Nichols broke his arm during a football accident (Americans: it’s the one where you hit the ball with a foot during the entire game). Harsh? Yes, but to rid you of your fears and anger (all three of you fans reading this), their shows are actually continuing as planned, with Dan Searle of Architects replacing him on drums.

Weekly Dose of Metal: Withered

Withered is an extreme Metal band hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. The band formed back in 2004, and began to start making a name for themselves from then on. I’m not entirely sure what happened though, but I haven’t heard a lot about them in a couple of years now. That’s probably down to my laziness however, because the band released a new album called Dualitas just last year. Check out the band’s official site for more info. If you enjoy Death Metal that incorporates a lot melody (don’t want to say Melodic Death Metal), then you might just like Withered.

My favorite Withered song ‘Within Your Grief‘ from 2005’s Memento Mori can be heard below.

Remembering: The Agony Scene

So, the other day we all sat together, drank tea and remembered the good old days of Pushmeunder. Oh, no we didn’t. I did all that, you lot were too busy having your personal details stolen from the Playstation Network (forgive me for not knowing the correct term) and watching the latest Sasha Grey film.

So this time, why don’t I help you remember a band we should all be able to remember? Well that’s what I’m doing, hopefully…

The Agony Scene were a band a lot of people seemed to hate. They burst onto the scene on a Christian Metal label, then later claimed they weren’t in fact Christians, and released a lot of relatively generic Deathcore/Metalcore/Applecore type music. So why am I remembering them? Well, I actually happened to like a few of their songs and, to me, they stood out at that time for not reducing themselves to constantly ripping off In Flames (although they do rip off At The Gates) and alternating between screams and clean vocals.

I used to love the track ‘Scapegoat’ taken from 2005’s The Darkest Red album, and guess what? You can watch the live video above. It’s pretty damn “Br00tal” as the trendy kids would say.

Guess what? Anthrax have a new album coming out

It’s called Worship Music, and it’s been in the making for, like, what now? 5 years? Well, don’t expect to hear it anytime soon, because we’ve just been treated by a clip by Scott Ian, and it’s super cool — 28 seconds of some riff he’s been working on, and it’s more of a promotion for some new amp, then the actual album.

But it might come rather sooner than later actually, because recently it’s all they’ve been talking about, in an interview for Rolling Stone they say they’re as tight as ever (which means never), and in another one Charlie Benante says it’s the most emotional one they’ve ever done. I guess the main emotion being confusion. You know, because of the singer(s). O yeah.

You don’t mess with Limp Bizkit fans

Limp Bizkit

Brisbane Times are reporting that a fight between two men, involving a Limp Bizkit CD, led to a murder of one of them. You’d think that the Bizkit fan was the murdered one, but no, it was the other way around, apparently.

The court was told Emmanuel McPherson, 48, objected when his flatmate, James Albert Madden, played a Limp Bizkit album on Mr McPherson’s stereo.

A fight then broke out, in which Mr Madden allegedly beat Mr McPherson to death.

Let me guess, he got mad wigger skills and shit, yo? Someone being murdered is no laughing matter, but Limp Bizkit is, so excuse me for making a joke out of this. We can only pray the James guy blames Limp Bizkit‘s satanic metal music so we see them in jail as well.
