AC/DC exhibition to take place in Scotland
According to Blabbermouth and TheCourier.co.uk, an exhibition featuring rare AC/DC memorabilia will take place in Kirriemuir, Scotland on July 9th.
I’ve got to be honest, I have no fucking idea where Kirriemuir is, let alone how to pronounce it, but it happens to be the original hometown of the legendary late Bon Scott, before he moved to Australia when he was six. The exhibition is taking place on what would have been the late singer’s 65th birthday.
The exhibition will take place at the Gateway to the Glens Museum, so make sure you make your way there come July the 9th, if you fancy seeing some rare AC/DC memorabilia including one of Bon Scott‘s jackets which has never been publicly shown before.
Review: Revoker – Revenge for the Ruthless
In more recent years, Wales (that small village in the western part of England that likes to think it’s a separate country, for those outside the UK unaware) has often been cited as a hotspot for modern elite Rock and Metal bands. In reality, it’s not. They’ve given us such “unique” (read: Shit) bands as Lostprophets, Funeral for a Friend, Bullet for My Valentine and Skindred (and at this point I’m going to have to stop before I puke), so believe me when I say I’m sceptical to hear about some new “talent” that has emerged from this village country.
Revoker, rising with the same PR crap as Bullet for My Valentine and other Welsh bands, have been touted as a Welsh Metal revolution in the making, being apparently one of the best Metal bands to arrive in the last year. At least that’s the sort of stuff I’ve read elsewhere.
Being an objective man, and with curiosity getting the best of me as Revoker signed to Roadrunner Records for their debut and have received a fair bit of hype, I figured I’d check out debut Revenge for the Ruthless. Make the jump for the review.
Kiss make the Guinness Book
Nope sorry, we’re not talking about the beer. Even though, I’d rather have a cold Guinness right now, than write about Kiss. But what can you do when you’ve sworn an oath of metal?
So Kiss made the Guinness Book of World Records. How so? Was it about the longest tongue? Most greedy human beings in the history of mankind? No no, I’m just kidding. Please don’t sue me, Mr. Simmons.
They set a world record for “Most Nationalities In An Online Chat.” No shit. They have records for that. How useful. Apparently some website hosted a chat called “KISS Live & Global” representing 92 nationalities from around the world.
Nice. Most useless trivia ever posted on this site.
James Hetfield in the Hall of Fame
Just yesterday none other than Metallica’s James Hetfield was inducted into the Downey High School Hall of Fame.
Wait, High School Hall of Fame? What? Since when do high schools have Hall of Fames? Where was I when that happened and why did nobody ask me about my opinion?
This is not news. Next.
Video of the Week: Black Label Society
An obvious choice, for a huge Pan-fucking-tera and Dimebag fan like myself, Black Label Society’s tribute to the late Dimebag Darrell — ‘In This River’ — just had to make Video of the Week sooner or later.
Even though the song wasn’t written with Dime in mind, as it was written prior to his death, the video for this song is probably still the greatest tribute to the late guitar-god. And the song just works perfectly here.
Just sit back, hit play and remember one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time. Getcha Pull.
