The worst tour ever

Hide your children, cover your ears and flee your towns, the worst tour EVER imagined has just become a reality. Emmure, iwrestledabearonce, In This Moment and Born of Osiris are among the confirmed bands for The (so called) All Stars Tour, which will run from July 22 to August 23.

Blabbermouth, has more information, so head over there instead. I’m too busy puking and hyperventilating from this news to continue. Nah, I’m joking, I’m just lazy and don’t care about these shit bands.

Burning wood with metal

Heavy Metal is a music genre but metal is not only about the music itself. The artworks for albums are very popular, made it into fashion via merchandising and sometimes inspire artists to try something different to create their own interpretation of the art.

Like in the case of David Thompson, vocalist of two Death Metal bands (and in one, he also plays the guitar), who used a wood burning wand to burn Heavy Metal logos and artworks into wood.

You can see a sweet example of that above, with Slayer’s logo, and you can find some more pictures after the jump, including some words by David Thompson himself whom we reached out to recently.

Asesino album news and epic tales

In late March, Asesino vocalist/bassist Tony Campos told us that the band were writing their third album. As a fan of Asesino, I was really happy to hear that and now imagine how happy it made me when I read a new interview with Dino Cazares talking about the third album, tentatively titled El Segunda Venida (= The Second Coming).

“We have the new album, which will be out in 2012. (…) So we’re thinking of calling the record ‘The Second Coming,’ which is ‘El Segunda Venida.’ Even though it’s our third album, it’s more based on the second coming of Christ (…).”

Read more here.

I advise you to read the complete interview because Dino explains the concept behind Asesino and the first two albums in its entirety. It’s pretty fucking epic. I’m still wondering how ‘Y Tu Mama Tambien’ fits into that concept though.

Everyone likes AC/DC, even sharks

Hot off the heels of our awesome Top 10 best AC/DC songs list, an Australian tour operator has discovered that even sharks like AC/DC. Well that’s the only logical conclusion we can come to, since the man has said the music of AC/DC attracts great white sharks to his boat (so that his customers can see them). Why else would the music attract them, if it’s not their love for AC/DC? Hmm…

So there you have it, everyone likes AC/DC, even none humans. Read more over at Blabbermouth.

Weekly Dose of Metal: The Seventh Cross

This week we’ve got another awesome dose of Metal for you. Dose of Metal, providing you with awesome Metal since … erm 2010. But hey, we’re still growing each day, much like my penis.

So this week we have a band called The Seventh Cross for you. They rose quickly in the mid 00’s, before signing to Candlelight Records. Their debut album Scorched by The Flames of Vengeance was released back in 2006, shortly before the band disbanded.

The Seventh Cross are a cross between Melodic Death Metal and Deathcore. Or maybe I’m just talking shit as usual. You can listen to ‘A Demon’s March’ below and make your own minds up.
