The Judas ‘farewell tour’ has been extended

I’m going to see Judas Priest live again soon, so please don’t take this post the wrong way. But I can’t stop making fun of the way they’ve handled press for this ‘farewell tour‘ which apparently isn’t really a farewell tour.

So what do you do when you pretend your current tour is the last one? You add more dates, of course.

North Americans, you’re in luck. You’ll be able to see this band for the (not really) last time starting in late October, all the way up to early December. Tour dates after the jump. They’ll be with Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society, so it’s not all bad (except for Black Label Society).

Full list of tour dates can be found on their official page.

Chickenfoot complete mixing

Chickenpoop Chickenfoot, the super group that are about as super as gone off chicken (mmm salmonella), have completed the mixing of their second album, which is expected to hit stores by the end of the year.

The album is, for the moment, called Chickenfoot IV, because the band thought it would be funny. It isn’t

Hear the new Unearth album now

What is this? The new fucking trend? Obviously I’m way out of the loop being an old man, but it seems another new Metal album is available for streaming today. This time it’s Unearth‘s new album Darkness In The Light. To be honest I wasn’t even aware they were working on a new album, which is kind of funny since, knowing me, I probably reported on it a while back and just forgot about it.

Anyways, the album can be streamed in its entirety at AltPress.com.

Interview: Nerthag (Nephrolith)

A month and a day ago, I reviewed Nephrolith’s killer debut album Xullux and gave it a 4,5 skull rating. The band originally asked us for a review of the album and I was so impressed that I asked them for an interview, right after I wrote my review.

Nerthag, Nephrolith’s vocalist, agreed to do an interview with me. It took us a while to get it done but here it finally is. You can find the interview after the jump.

Hear the new Devin Townsend albums

Now this is more like it, although you can also hear the new In Flames album, I’d personally just skip that and listen to new albums from the Devin Townsend Project. Both Deconstruction and Ghost are out now in most of the world, and will be released in North America tomorrow.

Both CDs are now available for streaming  at AOL Music:
Deconstruction: audio stream
Ghost: audio stream

I’ve just given both a quick listen, and they sound fucking insane, which is great, because now I can pretend I’m on mushrooms without being stupid enough to take any. Read more on the albums at Blabbermouth.
