Stone Sour Hesitate live

No, Stone Sour didn’t recently hesitate and forget their music whilst performing live (although that may not have been a bad thing). They did, however, recently perform the song Hesitate live on ABC-TV‘s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show.

Check out the performance above. That is unless you’re like me and the sounds of Staind and the Backstreet Boys clashing together discordantly just doesn’t appeal, in which case you won’t hesitate in avoiding pressing the play button at all costs. If you’re interested in more Stone Sour shit though, press that play button and find more here.

Weekly Dose of Metal: Swashbuckle

More Pirate Metal! Second week in a row, double yarr! Yarr Yarr! Alright, enough of that crap. After I introduced you to Pirate Metal last week, I just can’t not mention Swashbuckle. In contrast to Alestorm, Swashbuckle don’t play pirate themed Metal but have Pirate themed lyrics. In terms of music, Swashbuckle play Old School influenced Thrash Metal but they dress up as pirates and sing about looting so that makes them Pirate Metal!

Anyhow, to introduce you to Swashbuckle, I’m bringing you a song off their first album, called ‘Welcome Aboard’.

Fans still supporting Motörhead

Last week in North America,  Motörhead released their 986th album, The Wörld Is Yours.  The album cracked the top 100, selling 7,000 copies in its first week, which is considered an impressive amount for a metal, unless you’re Metallica.  Sure, 7,000 copies might not seem a lot but that’s more than their previous two albums (Motörizer in 2008 sold 6,400 in its first week and their 2006 release Kiss Of Death sold 3,500).

When asked for comment on the bands success over the last 30 years and what keeps them still going strong, Lemmy said “that was a great time, the summer of 71.  I can’t remember it, but I’ll never forget it!”

Big Vier in Deutschland danke schon Rammstein

I have no idea what I just said in the title since I don’t know German but if you do, congratulations. You’ll be able to catch them live, you lucky bastards. Here’s a post from Metallica.com:

If you’ve been following along, you know that the Big 4 of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and ‘Tallica already have two shows scheduled in Europe in July… well, the party is expanding! We’re here today to tell you about and addition to the European vacation with a show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany at the Veltins Arena on July 2, 2011.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, February 19 at 9:00 AM local time at www.eventim.de.

Full post here.

Beer, wursts and Big Four. Doesn’t get any better than this, unless you also get to bang Megan Fox.

Deftones prove they’re not mellow

Deftones
Deftones have finally managed to do something metal. Did they write a really heavy riff? Did they pull off a long solo? Did Chino sound like a man?

No. Actually, the band managed to do this — by doing nothing. Apparently, they didn’t show up for a show in Bangkok, which made a lot of people angry for some reason. So they started rioting. And rioting is a moshpit without the music anyway, right? They did however manage to appear on time in Singapore, and seems they had a good time (picture above; taken very recently because it’s just been posted on Twitter by the band, probably to prove they don’t piss off people everywhere). You can watch two videos of the riot footage after the jump.
