Blitzkritik: Serj Tankian – Imperfect Harmonies

Alright, so you know the score. Blitzkritik means I listen to an album and write the review as I go through it. Fast. To the point. Superficial. Subjective. Lame. Everything a review has to be. Here we go.

I’m not gonna beat around the bush… I’ve always hated Serj, but not necessarily ‘Serj the Musician,’ although he is pretentious and condescending with his music, but mostly ‘Serj, the propagandist.’

I just find it completely lame that he wasn’t born in the United States, but went there as child, met his future bandmates, got rich and famous, and now is criticizing the very country that made it all possible. I have an idea, why don’t you go back to Armenia?

Anyways, he’s released a solo album. Will I like it? Probably not, but who knows?

Special message for SOAD fans

Fans of System of a Down have long been awaiting the return of the band, and for you fans, frontman Serj Tankian has a very special message for you… What do you think it could be?

Well it’s not the return of System, if that’s what you thought. No, Serj is just trying to sell you his solo album and is using System of a Down’s fame in order to promote it. Classy.

Serj’s new album, Imperfect Harmonies, is out now.  Check it out if you want to hear an inferior version of what System of a Down do.

More political propaganda from Serj

Serj Tankian, the man who constantly bites the hand that feeds, is yet again using his (small) fame to change the world. Give this man an award already, maybe he shuts up.

Serj Tankian has teamed with the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) and the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) in calling on President Obama to honor his pledge to recognize the Armenian Genocide and to take decisive action to end the genocide in Darfur, with the September 9 launch of the “Yes, It’s Genocide” campaign.

Boring video of him talking about this crap after the jump.

When asked why he’s constantly criticizing the country his parents immigrated to when he was little, a country that made all of his fame and fortune possible, Serj answered “I’ll give you a hint, it rhymes with CRITE”
