Remember who plays what in Korn?
It’s a sad day for Korn when their highest talent is also the newest addition to the band’s not so solid line-up. They can only wish they were as lucky with guitar players as they were with drummers, though.
Ray Luzier, the only non-original band member who doesn’t have to play behind amps during their live shows (because he plays behind the drum-kit) was recently interviewed by Roadrunner Italy, and discussed various things, including his musical influences. Let me drop you a spoiler: Don’t expect to hear anything about David Silveria. Watch the video after the jump.
Kirk Hammett's still learning
Metallica‘s bimbo Kirk Hammett recently did an interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com and said the following about his guitar playing “You know, I think as a metal guitar player, I am decent. I am no Eddie Van Halen, but I am still learning, am still learning stuff day to day and still feel like I am growing. I also still think that my music writing is still getting better.”.
For once, I’ve got to agree with Hammett. He is decent. That’s where I stop agreeing with him, though. He’s obviously not getting better but maybe he’s just learning the wrong stuff day to day? Maybe he should stop jamming to the latest Bullet for My Valentine record and listen to some… uh… metal?

Steven Adler (who?) wants GNR reunion
Steven Adler, original (ish) Guns N’ Roses drummer (AKA the one from GNR no one really cares about), is still after a reunion. It may have been 23 years since Appetite for Destruction was released, and 20 years since Adler was fired from the band, but he’s still banging on about Guns n’ Roses and looking for a reunion of the “original lineup”.
In a recent interview Adler claims that the reason he wants a reunion so badly, is that the original band never finished what they started. The problem with this claim though, is they did finish what they started Steven, they just finished without you. Let it go. Or do what Axl did, and hire a bunch of professional musicians and pretend you’re still Guns N’ Roses. I hear that’s working well for him.
Funny that the only member really looking for a reunion is the one that needs the cash… Check out the interview over at Blabbermouth.

We start with a classic: the Crazy Train solo… This guitarist’s got Randy Rhoads’ tone and technique down to a T. Impressive. Video after the jump.
