Metal On Anvil

Anvil released a documentary last year, “Anvil! The Story Of Anvil“.

If you have no idea who they are, basically they were considered the next big metal band to sell millions during the 1980s.  They help influence bands like Anthrax, Slayer and Metallica.  They also played some big tours and festivals.   They never made it and from 1987-2007, they continued to release a lot of albums.  Even if some of them were lacking quality, it didn’t stop Anvil from chasing their dream to be metal gods.

Well, they have some news.  Anvil were honored for yet another award.  Blabbermouth has all the details.   If you wanna hear some Anvil, you know what to do.

They earn WHAT?????

Kiss earns a minimum of $500,000 per concert, placing the legndary rock band near the top of the summertime tour earnings list, according to contract records that have been acquired by The Smoking Gun web site.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know they played live anymore, much less earn half a mil each night. What the hell? How about you donate some money to us, Gene?

When asked why he still can’t afford a proper haircut, Gene Simmons had no comment.

Belladonna liked the taste of success

Current (I think) Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna, who was Anthrax’s 6th, 8th and 10th singer in the overall timeline, liked the view from huge stages at the Big Four tour last summer.

In an interview with About.com Belladonna had the following to say about the tour “It was quite overwhelming and cool as hell to be part of Metallica‘s world.”.

About Anthrax’s upcoming (hehe) album he said “There’s stuff already ready for the picking. We have to tweak stuff and rewrite some lyrics. All the vocals have to be placed in the songs again. I already sang on one song already”, which means “We’ll record my vocals over Nelson’s vocals and once we’re done, I’ll quit and John Bush will record over my vocals”*.

New All That Remains Samples

All That Remains have released 30 second audio clips from all the songs on their upcoming new album, “For We Are Many“.

None of us here at Dose Of Metal really have any interest in these songs, at all(especially if they sound similar to the last album).  However, they have fans, a lot of fans, and we at Dose Of Metal are fully aware of this.   That’s why we’re nice enough to share the link with you.

Make the jump for the video.  Enjoy!

Sebastian Bach blasts UK Magazine

Axl Rose‘s equally washed-up girlfriend mate, Sebastian Bach has recently blasted UK magazine, Classic Rock, for an article they published on Skid Row.

One quote from the article Bach didn’t like reads “When Skid Row found Sebastian Bach, they thought they’d found the rock star who could take them to the big time. What they got was an ego that threatened to destroy the band.”

Bach, in addition, claims that the magazine lies in the article by claiming he ‘ refused to be interviewed for this article because he does not want to live in the past, even though his live set is half songs from the first record.’

Funnily enough though, Bach doesn’t deny the fact he refused to be interviewed, instead just stating that his live set doesn’t just feature songs from his first record. Frankly, that may or may not be true, I don’t care. I have as much interest in seeing Sebastian Bach live, as I have in seeing Axl Rose and some hired musicians turn up late, play two songs and then leave the stage because a few members of the crowd are a little bit pissed the band turned up late.
