Virgin Steele are back
If you like your metal cheesy and sounding like Manowar, then check out “Black Light Bacchanalia“, studio album number 12 from Virgin Steele. I’m on the first track so far and it’s sounding pretty solid. Virgin Steele probably won’t sell much, so make sure you buy this if you actually enjoy it.

The Haunted man speaks
Peter Dolving, frontman of The Haunted, has spoken recently about their forthcoming 11th studio album (scheduled for an early 2011 release), describing it as “awesome.” Well, they’re hardly going to describe it as crap are they? Or slightly above average? Congrats on being the 2,054,129th band to describe your latest album as being awesome.
Snide remarks aside though, I am rather looking forward to this release. If you are too, read more over at Blabbermouth.
Nergal is doing a lot better
Great news! Looks like Behemoth front man/guitarist Adam “Nergal” Darski has found a bone marrow donor that is a genetic match. He still has a long way to go, but good news so far. We at Dose Of Metal wish him all the best!

Gojira hit the studio for a new EP
Gojira are currently in the studio, with producer Logan Mader (former Machine Head guitarist), recording a four-song EP, the proceeds from which will benefit Sea Shepherd, an anti-whaling organization.
Frontman Joe Duplantier said the following in an interview earlier this year;
“We’ll record and produce [four] songs that [we] will sell on our web site without going through traditional ways. The benefits of sales will be donated to Sea Shepherd. There will be guests from the international metal scene [on the record].”
Make the jump to see a couple of pictures from the studio, including some stupid captions from myself.
As I Lay Dying on telly
If you’re sick of all the horrid trance, drum n’ bass and pop shite music that is constantly being played on the television, then you might be interested in watching this live footage of As I Lay Dying performing for Fuse TV. It’s just a shame the sound isn’t fantastic and the singing is a little off key…
Regardless, check it out after the jump.
