Death Angel answer fan questions

A couple of weeks ago, Death Angel opened up a Q&A section on their official site.   Fans have the opportunity to ask any member anything they want.  Death Angel uploaded their first video on March 18th, their second video on March 24th and just recently their third video, which, in my opinion, is the most important question of them all:  Iron Maiden OR Judas Priest?

It’s a tough question! It’s like asking who do you love more, mommy or daddy?  Who is more intense, Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers?  Better basketball player, Larry Bird or Magic Johnson?  Who gave you the best lap dance from the strip bar the other night?  You just can’t decide!

The boys in Death Angel also had trouble.  Luckily, they seem to have answers and you can see what they said, after you make the jump.

Lemme introduce myself… Bitch

Well, um… hello there.

After lots of sleepless nights and horrifyingly vivid daydreams of countless hordes of metal fans yelling not-so-nice things about my writing skills, taste in music and my ancestors, I decided to face the challenge Alex has put me in front of (yes, I just wrote that) and join the marvelous group of fine gentlemen running and contributing to this wondrous site.

All in all, if that show about cars, Top Gear if I recall correctly, has a James May, I guess I can fit in here. Sorry about that – had to make an obscure reference from the get-go, otherwise I would contradict and confuse myself.

I reckon all this energy and zinginess has to be counterweighted by a boring old fart balanced approach to this type of music that we all seem to more or less enjoy. My input will probably be sporadic (I can only take so much hate mail), and I’ll try to keep it civil as long as my Xanax prescription is valid. Now that I’ve used all the tricks I know – strikethrough text, parentheses and all that -, if anything else than I have written above appears in this text, know that it’s Alex’s doing.

Hit the jump to see what kind of attitude I’m expecting.

Live dosage

Because today is a slow news day, and I’m about as bored as my ex was whenever she was with me, it’s time for some random live Metal. And because I’m a great writer, I’m going to begin a sentence with the word “because” and then start another sentence with the word “and.”

What’s the live video for the day? Slaughter of the Soul by At the Gates, performed at 2008’s Wacken festival in Germany.

If you fancy seeing the reformed legends this year, you can check them out at Sweden’s Metaltown or England’s Bloodstock Open Air festival. More details can be found by googling “At the Gates [+]  dates 2011.”

Weekly Dose of Metal: Hatesphere

Hatesphere started in 2001 and since then had numerous line-up changes. My favorite line-up was that of the third album ‘Ballet of the Brute,’ that was released in 2004. It featured one of my favorite singers in the Death Thrash genre, Jacob Bredahl, who went on to front Allhelluja and The Kandidate.

Bredahl was with Hatesphere from 2001 until 2007, when guitarist Peter Lyse Hansen fired everyone in the band and started the band from scratch.

This next song, called ‘500 Dead People,’ is from the album mentioned above. Death Thrash at its’ best.
