Haunted Flames

*sigh* Lame title on my part, but it’s been reported that a new supergroup consisting of members of Swedish giants In Flames and The Haunted has formed, and the band will be performing at the new Sonic Rock Circus festival, set to take place on September 30 at Klubben in Stockholm, Sweden.

The band are called The Resisitance and feature Marco Aro on vocals (ex The Haunted), Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström on guitars (ex In Flames), Alex Losbäck Holstad on bass, and Chris Barkensjö on drums.

Normally I would make some sort of joke about how mediocre In Flames and The Haunted are right now, but this band might actually turn out to be pretty good. Plus Marc Aro was a part of The Haunted way before their mediocre period.

More information as well as pictures of the band and their logo can be found at Blabbermouth.

BlackGates release final song of 3-song demo

If you don’t know BlackGates by now, you’ve surely missed out. We’ve interviewed two of the four bandmembers — Jeremy Von Epp and Dan Nelson — and now the band released the final song, called ‘Vacant,’ of their 3-song demo on their Reverbnation page.

Head over there right now or use the player below to listen to all 3 songs.

And now, make the jump for some pictures of the studio, the band recorded their demo at.

WAR! New Sabaton video

What can you expect from a music video of a band that, pretty much, solely sings about war? Well, I won’t answer that question. Just watch the video above.

If you’re wondering why the title of the video says “2010,” don’t worry. It didn’t take us half a year to finally write about it. The song, ‘Screaming Eagles,’ is taken from Sabaton’s 2010 album Coat Of Arms and the video was shot in 2010. You see, it didn’t take us half a year to write about it. It just took them half a year to release it.

It is forgiven as soon as you hit the play button though, because the video — and especially the song — kick massive amounts of ass.

Shining release first music video

I certainly fell in love with Shining’s music over the past couple of months and I can’t wait for the forthcoming 7th album VII: Född Förlorare.

You can watch Shining’s first ever music video, for the song ‘Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel,’ above or the uncensored version of the video after the jump. Be warned, it included scenes of self-mutilation and drug usage.

Shining’s Niklas Kvarforth has the following to say about the video:

“We know we are going to get heavily criticised for some of the scenes but it’s nothing more than you will see as soon as you switch on a television or watch a movie, or walk down a city street come to that. But we’re Shining and it’s always open season on Shining when it comes to people who have neither understood, nor taken the time to try and understand, where the band is coming from”

Read the full press-release here.

And now, if you’re not a wuss, watch the uncensored music video of ‘Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel’ after the jump.

Devin Townsend is nice

The Devin Townsend Project have released two brand new tracks from the two forthcoming albums, for you to download for free! That’s right, they won’t cost you a cent. Mad genius Devin Townsend isn’t daft though, because to get the two tracks you’ll have to do some “connect” crap with Facebook and Twitter before you get the links.

Are the two tracks any good? I have no fucking idea, because I’m just too damn lazy to go through all that to get the links. If you’re not lazy, congratulations – how’s that working out for you? But yeah, here’s the link.

Devin Townsend will release Deconstruction” and Ghost — the third and fourth in a series of albums to be made available under Devin Townsend Project moniker — on June 21 (one day earlier internationally) via InsideOut Music. I totally borrowed this from Blabbermouth BTW.
