Dave Navarro: Eco-terrorist
Is low IQ contagious? Because it seems Dave Navarro caught some from his ex-wife Carmen Electra, and joined the “noble” cause of PETA. He will be honored on their 30th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards, just like many hypocrite celebrities before who’ve used this to boost their damaged careers. Well, we hope he gets treated like the animals PETA saves.
He also (very vaguely) tried to explain what’s going on with his band Jane’s Addiction, which for years now seems to be stuck in a cycle of breaking up, reforming, changing line-ups, and not releasing any music. You can read about it here.
And, if you’re feeling particularly brave today, make the jump and see the meaningful and tastefully done PETA promo poster with Navarro himself. Be warned because it’s neither of the two.
Deathrider's to play Show with Philm
Neil Turbin, you know the guy who sang on the first Anthrax album ‘Fistful of Metal’, including crowd favorite ‘Deathrider’, and now plays with his band Deathriders in backyards and parking lots is going to play a show with Philm, post hardcore side project of Dave Lombardo.

Guitar Heroes
Having effectively flushed his solo career down the toilet, Chris Cornell and the reformed Soundgarden are eager to announce a “groundbreaking” deal that will bring their “new” album, entitled Telephantasm, to the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock video game, one week prior to the launch of the album. “Awesome”. If you’re too lazy to pick up a real instrument and want to hear some crappy b-sides, click here for more info.
But why is Slash in the picture above, one might ask?
Well, it seems our favorite clown has been truly busy lately. Amongst other thrilling activities, which you have been able to read about here at Dose of Metal, he’s found time to get involved with Jimi Hendrix: Guitar Hero DVD. Fortunately for us, this is not another Guitar Hero game. Unfortunately for us, someone thought Slash was a good choice for a narrator. Blasphemy, we know.

Support Atheism
“Christian metal” band Atheist are finally releasing a new album, “Jupiter“, on November 9th.
Steve Flynn, who happens to be the drummer for Atheist, released a video about the drums and guitar coming together for an upcoming song. It sounds very promising. No question Bret Michaels Kelly Schaefer and the boys will release another masterpiece.
