Dave Mustaine wants to make movies
Dave Mustaine. Singer. Guitarist. Author. Filmmaker?
Is there anything Dave won’t do? (except, you know, stop talking about Metallica)
“I wouldn’t want it to be a documentary or anything like that, but I’d love to do a movie. It would have to be after I’m all done with Megadeth because once you cross over into the mainstream, there is no way little old Megadeth would be able to compete with that kind of monster.“

This pretty much sums up Dave. He’s already worried that he’ll be way too good and successful in the movie industry, so he has to finish with Megadeth first, then he can worry about revolutionizing Hollywood. The man is confident, you can’t take that away from him.
Manobulgar
Joey DeMaio of Manowar apparently loves Bulgaria. So recently he sat down with Sofia’s mayor to talk about how much he loves Bulgaria. Is there a business venture he’s opening there, or why is he hanging out with politicians?
“Joey signed the city’s Book of Honor with the following text: ‘To the beautiful city of Sofia and to the most beautiful mayor I have ever met and in the world’“
I like some cities as well, so I just, you know… Visit them. I don’t need to tell everyone how much I love them. And I wanted to add a homoerotic joke in here but then I realized… The mayor is a female. So now it all makes sense. Joey wants to hit that. Aww, let’s not cockblock him then. Good luck, my man. This is what she said about him, by the way:
“I’m a real fan and this meeting with you makes me really excited” (did you also read that with a Borat accent? I did too, high five!)

So it seems this sexy time venture will be great success. Jagshemash!
Kids ruin Pantera
Look, I’m not gonna attack some kids passionate about music. If anything, with all the stupid kids doing Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga covers on YouTube, these guys are a breath of fresh air. So I applaud their skill and hope they’ll keep working on their craft and grow up to write influential music of their own.
However, they keep covering Pantera (cause I have seen them before) and to me, it doesn’t cut the mustard. Sorry. It just doesn’t, and I’m not gonna patronize them just because they’re young. The intro to the song you’re about to hear is horrible and the kid’s voice is taking away everything that made Pantera’s vocals great. Keep working, guys, you got my moral support. But this is just substandard.
Watch them butcher most of “Revolution is my name,” after the jump.
Suicide Silence know their Facebook
…because they’re using the dirtiest trick in the book to get you to download their new free song (actually, not a song, it’s a remix): It’s free, but you have to go to their Facebook page. It’s there, but you have to “like” something first. You can download it, but you need to add an app first. All your data is God knows where, but you finally have your hands on some crappy remix. Actually, considering how most people click on those things without thinking twice, who knows, this might be Suicide Silence‘s big break. Check out the Facebook page here.
Metal is geeky
Look, it’s Metal Sonic. Get it? No? Nevermind…
Metal is geeky. Thomas Gurrath (of Debauchery fame) said so, and now Luke Martin of the Prog-Metal project, Versed, has proven this point even further, by doing a Prog-Metal cover of the Flying Battery Zone music from Sonic and Knuckles.
So much for Metal being about death, blood, fire, war and sex 🙁
Check out Versed over at Facebook. You can listen to the cover after the jump. It also has a cool speedrun of the game whilst the music plays.
