System of a back!
The title of this post doesn’t make sense? Well neither does System of a Down‘s name.
Ignore my last post, because THIS is the news of the century. Ok, maybe not quite, but this is one band I think a lot of people would be excited to see reform.
According to the official blog of Francis Zégut, host of the show “Pop Rock Station” on the French radio station RTL2, System of a Down will reform and perform at the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy in Paris, France on June 6, 2011. It is expected that System will also play a number of the European summer festivals as well. With a Download Festival announcement coming soon, is it possible System will be headlining Download? It’s a possibilty.
I just hope this news is true, if only so we don’t have to listen to any more solo efforts from Serj.
News of the century!
Holy shit! Forget about the two people above. Good news guys, the 1980s UK rock band Salem only went and reformed! And they’re going to play their first show in 27 years, tomorrow at The Adelphi, De Grey Street, Hull, England. In Hull too! The absolute epicentre of English awesomeness.
That’s so awesome! I would go and see them, but unfortunately I haven’t got a fucking clue who they are. Plus I’d probably end up getting my shoes robbed if I stepped a foot inside Hull.
Annihilator almost got annihilated
Annihilator may have a tough name, but apparently they can’t “fight fire with fire” like Metallica because when a fire broke out next door, they ran like crazy.
Fortunately the only thing that got hurt was their ego, as being named ‘Annihilator‘ and running for your life screaming for mommy isn’t exactly ‘good PR,’ but luckily nobody was injured and they could even retrieve their instruments.
More info and some photos of the fire here, because that’s a proper informational site, this is just a few kids with too much time on their hands and way too much access to amateur (German Scheisse) porn.
Def Leppard isn't really def if it's doing radio
Def Leppard‘s drummer Rick Allen can play drums with only one hand. So that begs the question, how come Lars Ulrich can’t play drums with two hands? Although Lars can clap his hands so I guess that evens it out.
Anyway, Rick and his wife, Lauren Monroe, hosted an episode of some radio show and interviewed Billy Idol and Serj Tankian there.
More info here, I guess, if you like searching through text (I don’t). or make the jump and listen to the episode.
Cauldron have a new song up
If you like old school, raw, dirty sounding 80s heavy metal, then you should be listening to Cauldron. They hail from Toronto, Ontario, and just recently released the opening track from their upcoming new album, Burning Fortune, which will be out on February14th, 2011 in Europe and February 15th, 2011 in North America.
The song is called “All Or Nothing” and it can be found right here
