Spotlight: Cauldron, Rival Sons, New Noise Attack
I know I plug it every week but for those of you who are knew to the site, we have a form for bands who would like to get their work reviewed here. Email us there, be patient and you might see your band on the next edition of Spotlight.
This week, just like last week, we’re going for already signed bands who either submitted the albums themselves or through their labels. Also, I’ll be reviewing Earache Records’ new sampler ‘New Noise Attack MMXI,’ that features some of their best bands. Check out this week’s Spotlight reviews after the jump.
Trapped under mosh
The band I’ll be talking about in this post is called Trapped Under Ice, hence the witty title. I think I’m a good candidate for the next metal’s biggest joke awards. The bad thing, I just heard Corey Taylor is most likely going to win that one.
Awful puns aside, what is going on in the clip above? I honestly had no idea when I watched it, but I read the text which explains it. The only reason I’m posting this is because I found the singer’s mid air girl power kick at the beginning of the video funny.
And speaking of Corey Taylor, make the jump to see an exclusive preview of his next project.
Up the irons, down the fences
Brazilian Iron Maiden fans managed to end last night’s show by ‘breaking’ the fence separating the band from the stage. Worrying about their own safety their fans’ safety, Iron Maiden had to end the show and Bruce’s attempts to calm the crowd were met with loud boos.
No one was hurt and they have another show today and everyone there got a bracelet for it. Whoever can’t make it will get a refund. Dammit… I don’t like happy endings (unless they’re after soapy massages).
The video of the barricade collapsing is after the jump.
Weak Recap: Second to none
Dose of Metal, the superhero of all metal blogs. We’re like Batman without the homosexual innuendos. Kicking ass, second to none. As you can see, we’re full of ourselves. It isn’t easy playing it down when you’re so awesome though. We’re super-awesome.
Moving on, we’re so full of ourselves that we’re taking turns interviewing each other because that’s what the world needs. The hero the metal world deserves.
