Review: Die – Rise Of The Rotten

A couple of weeks ago, Die frontman Søren Christensen talked to me via Facebook and we then moved our conversation to email and yesterday I got a copy of Die’s debut album Rise Of The Rotten.

Today, I’m writing a review of said album. If you’re in a band yourself and you want your work reviewed by us, contact us via our ‘Your Band’ form.

Can you guess what the new Morbid Angel album is like?

David Vincent (Morbid Angel)

Guess which of the following is true: When asked about the new Morbid Angel album Illud Divinum Insanus, David Vincent called it:
a) heaviest one they ever made
b) best one they ever made
c) masterpiece

And the correct answer is: c) masterpiece. Wow, the guy is really trying to sell it. Like, more than the usual (answers a and b). Can we blame him, though? How many times have we called this site and ourselves awesome and amazing? Too many times to count. But in our case, it’s 110% true. In his case, it’s just an excuse for us to make an awesome article out of it. Amazing.

Back when they were still good: Killswitch Engage

Killswitch Engage; I envy you guys. You’ve been writing the same shit over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again, it’s gotten worse, and yet you’ve been making a living from it. I write the same shit over and over again, and I’m lucky if I get so much as a blowjob, let alone a pay check (and that’s not got anything to do with this site or my writing, I just don’t get a whole lot of action).

The band were once good, then they found a formula and stuck with it until people like me could take no more. In addition, Adam D you’re neither funny nor original, you’re just lame. So Killswitch Engage, please either get good again and tell Adam to shut the hell up (and lose the cape), or just give it up already. Kthnxbye! xoxo

P.S. I actually wanted to find a live video of this song with Jesse, but unfortunately I failed.

Review: Lobo – Highway To Hell (by Scott Ian)

Here’s a first for Dose of Metal: I’m reviewing a comic. As many of you know, Scott Ian of Anthrax is a huge comic book nerd. He reads comic books and then writes songs about them (i.e. I Am The Law) and sometimes, he just writes comics himself, as was the case with Lobo – Highway To Hell.

Personally, I’m a comic book nerd myself. Be it Batman, Deadpool or the new Marvel Noir comics, I read a lot of comics. It’s my fourth passion, right after listening to metal, smoking weed and masturbation.

Highway To Hell was published in 2009 via DC Comics. Make the jump for my unusual review of said comic.
