Tuesday Trivia: Tom Morello’s sexy secret

Tom Morello

I just stumbled on this article which details Tom Morello’s early days in Los Angeles, where he moved after graduating from Harvard. The funny part? After the jump!

“When I graduated from Harvard and moved to Hollywood, I was unemployable. I was literally starving, so I had to work menial labour and, at one point, I even worked as an exotic dancer. ‘Brick House’ (by The Commodores) was my jam! I did bachlorette parties and I’d go down to my boxer shorts. Would I go further? All I can say is thank God it was in the time before YouTube! You could make decent money doing that job – people do what they have to do.”

Some details on his education:

Morello graduated from high school with honors in June 1982, and enrolled at Harvard University as a political science student that autumn.

He was the first student at his high school to be accepted at Harvard, and was in fact the first person from Libertyville, Illinois ever to enroll there. Morello graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies from Harvard.

You know what they say, there’s no shame in doing any work? Well, now I’m pretty sure Tom Morello came up with that saying. Kidding aside, if we learned anything today, is that you should never stereotype anyone, not even a male stripper. He might be a Harvard graduate and a future rockstar. Next thing you know we learn that glam rockstars have college degrees. Speaking of which…

Steel Panther‘s singer, Michael Starr, actually has a PhD in English literature at Berkley, and used to be an Assistant Professor at a university in Texas. Wow, dood.

In the end, to funk up this shitty edition of Tuesday Trivia, here’s a very non-metal song, the one Morello used to jam to.
