Dimmu Borgir may not be a REAL Metal band, but they’re still a REAL band. Well, by real, I mean not make-believe, not that they’re actually any good. Still, you’d think touring with them, Korn would know who they are… Erm well apparently not, as can be seen in the interview with Fieldy after the jump (skip to 6 minutes).
“What do you think about Dimmu ‘Borgir’ and their music?”
“Of who?”
“Dimmu Borgir – the band you’re touring with”
“Oh… I don’t really know…”

They are still about 1000% times better than KoRn.
Who isn’t? 😛
I think you meant that Korn are about 1000% better than Dimmu Borgir, Dusty. 😉
Let’s settle this: They’re both shit.
Saying KoRn is better than anyone is a bold statement. Pioneers of Nu-Metal and all around douche-bags with stupid hair? I’ll take black metal posers anyday.
Amen!
How’s that any different to Dimmu Borgir being pioneers of fake black-metal and all around posers with stupid hair? Besides, I’ve never heard the guitarists from that band write something as an inventive, creative or influential as Brian Welch’s riffs. Dead serious btw.
Amen, also.
He also said he doesn’t listen to a lot of music so it’s understandable he might not have listened to Dimmu Borgir ever, and believe it or not, it’s pretty common among professional musicians to not listen to a lot of music, they make so much music by the time they are done they just want silence, hence why John Cage made a song of nothing but silence, 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence.
Oh, and Phillip, no offense, but to say that ANYONE is “fake black-metal” is extremely ignorant, because what IS black metal? It may have started with Venom in their song “Black Metal”, but music changes constantly. Remember words are just symbols which represent things, however the mind perceives a word, that is what the word means to them. Therefore if a lot of people perceive black metal to be Norwegian Black Metal, then it is a real genre, and Dimmu Borgir, and Immortal are both part of that scene.
You can have whatever opinions you want, personally KoRn is my favorite band, and Dimmu Borgir is my favorite black metal band, I don’t care if you like them or not.
Oh, and to say anyone is “better” than anyone else is ignorant also. Let me ask you something, who is the best drummer? I’m sure that’ll spark some fighting, the most common thing people say is “Neil Peart” or “Danny Carey”, but they are completely different.
KoRn is technically NuMetal, but like Industrial, Nu Metal is something that varies greatly.
Dimmu Borgir is Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal, they are completely different, their styles are completely different, and you may not like the way one or the other sounds, but it has nothing to do with their talent.
So f*** you guys, go suck a c*ck…
Funny how you lectured people on different opinions and how it’s ignorant to use certain words, and then you ended with “f*** you guys, go suck a c*ck”
You give Korn fans a great name.
