The time has come… The Lulu has landed

It’s been the talk of Metallica fans and metalheads around the world for weeks. Perhaps the biggest “what the fuck?” moment in ‘Tallica‘s career yet (and there’s been a bucket load, let’s be honest), and you can finally listen to it. At last all the following questions can be answered. Maybe.

“Who the fuck is Lou Reed?”

“Why are Metallica doing this?”

“Will it be worse than St Anger?”

“Am I a table?”

“If a tree falls in a wood and no one is around to hear it, will I be a table?”

The entire album can be streamed at the Lulu official site. Listen at your own risk…

More Lulu up your ass

Did you feel like I felt upon hearing ‘The View’ from Metallica & Lou Reed love-child album? Did you feel the cringe-worthy sadness when you realized that this piece of crap was the single of the new Metallica album? And did you laugh at the countless “I am the table” memes that have smothered the internet ever since its release?

Well, if you hated that, then you will most likely hate the rest of this post. Lou Reed himself has posted a few of the lyrics, that we will be laughing at treated to on the new album. Be warned, though: These lyrics are awful, simply awful. When I heard ‘The View,’ I honestly tried to look at its good points (considering it is a Metallica release, after all), but I simply could not defend that crap!

Anyway, if you want to read some of the new lyrics for the song “Pumping Blood”, including such classic lines as “Waggle my ass like a dark prostitute,” “Oh, ah, ah, ah Jack I beseech you,” and “Like a colored mans dick,” make if the jump. If not, continue watching that porn in the second tab. I got you.

Lulu – Lou Reed =

If you ever thought the Lou Reed / Metallica songs could have been improved without Reed‘s pretentious poems, someone just did you a solid.

Above you have a version of ‘The View’ without Lou Reed. Is it better? Hmmm, maybe just a little, but I don’t think that’s saying much.

I am the blog. I am the progress.

Lulu makes AJFA sound like the first Ramones album, according to Lars Ulrich

Rolling Stone conducted an interview with both Lou Reed and members of Metallica, and it’s mostly the same cliché stuff like “You have to feel it” and “This is really unique!” (yes, they really say those things).

But one quote definitely caught my attention:

a few days after Lulu is mastered, Ulrich describes listening to the album on a late-night car ride. ‘I was overwhelmed,’ he confesses. ‘I also felt,’This is really unique.” How unique? He laughs. ‘This makes… And Justice for All sound like the first Ramones album.‘”

Say what? Dude, is you crazy?

Listen, AJFA is my favorite Metallica album, and I consider it their best (or second best, really on par with MoP). How can you even include that album when talking about this experimental stuff? Jeez, Lars, I’m so disappointed.

I get that the guys are trying to hype up their release, I also get that they might be proud of it, but leave the 80s Metallica albums out of it, for the love of God, it’s borderline blasphemous to use them in the same sentence.

Metalloureedca has an audio preview

Lulu, the not-awaited album from Lou Reed and Metallica has a preview now. Does it sound as bad as we all thought it would? No… It’s worse.

Honestly, I can’t defend this crap, it sounds pretty bad.
