Dose Of Metal: Mobile friendly

With the risk of sounding cocky, we know our site is amazing. But sometimes all the amazingness is hard to handle for a mobile phone, so we’re trying to make it easier for you to access it via your favorite mobile device, without having to fill up the tiny screen with the (amazing) header or anything like that.

So now, if you access DoM on a mobile device, it will look like an iPhone app. Look here and here. Cool, huh?

It works with Android and other devices as well, not just the iPhone. Of course, at the bottom of the mobile page you can disable the look and just browse through the regular site.

Also don’t forget that our RSS feed is great to use on RSS apps and widgets, like Pulse. Look here.

Zakk Wylde isn’t illiterate

No really, he isn’t. Not like I ever claimed that he is but hey, just setting the record straight here. The guy looks like a viking-gone-biker (I won’t call him a redneck, nope) but he knows how to handle a pen just as good as his guitar. Or a laptop. Or whatever.

So after this disastrous intro, you still don’t know what this article is about, right? Right. That was the plan. I wanted to see how far I can stretch this without saying anything basically and you’re still reading so I guess, I win.

Oh yeah, the news… Zakk Wylde is writing a book. Seriously. It’ll be called ‘Bringing Metal to the Children’. Read the press release more here. At least they know how to cut to the cheese. I don’t. I’m lactose intolerant.

Cult of Luna writing new album

It’s been 2 and a half years since Cult of Luna released their latest album ‘Eternal Kingdom’ and 2011 seems to be the year for a new album.

A couple of days ago (you know, last year) Cult of Luna uploaded the first in a series of webisodes that capture the writing process of said album. Check out this first webisode after the jump.

On another note, is it just me or does the word “webisode” sound just dumb?

Dose Of Metal: Now in color!

Guys, when we started this site roughly 3 and a half months ago, we decided to keep everything in black and white just for the fuck of it. But truth to be told, while it was ‘our thing,’ it wore thin after a while and all the b&w photos on our Facebook page and RSS feeds were looking pretty rough.

So we decided to switch to full colored photos starting 2011. I know it will take a while to get used to it for everyone but I think it’s ultimately for the best.

Don’t you just want to see Mustaine‘s hair in its original ginger color?

Poland has taste

Around the world, you hear stories of artists like Take That, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Kanye West (ugh it’s enough to make me vomit) winning awards, but it seems things are a little different in Poland.

It’s been announced that Blackened Death Metallers, Behemoth have been named “artist of the year” by the readers of one of the biggest Polish portals, Onet.pl. Ok, so awards are generally utter rubbish, but it’s good to see extreme Metal getting some recognition.
