More Bach for your buck

Upon waking up this morning and browsing Blabbermouth, I was horrified to learn that Sebastian Bach is working on yet another solo album. That’s not the news though, apparently that’s already common knowledge. The news is that he’s also working on bonus material for the new album.

What’s the bonus material? A free can of hair spray? Some hair dye to hide those grey hairs? A free rant on how awesome Axl Rose is and how people shouldn’t criticize him? Nah just some bonus songs and a live DVD.

The album is scheduled for release for some time in September.

Blast from the Past: Strapping Young Lad – Alien

Strapping Young Lad, masters of chaos Metal (yes, I just made that term up – making up sub genres FTW!), and the brain child of manic, musical genius, Devin Townsend. The band formed in 1994, and created some of the most aggressive, schizophrenic and manic music until the band came to a natural end in 2007.

This week I’ve decided to review the band’s fourth studio album, Alien, so go ahead and make the jump for my verdict.

Primordial interview

Another video interview for you to watch this morning, aren’t we nice to you guys? No, we’re awesome to you.

Stormbringer.at conducted an interview with Primordial vocalist Alan “Nemtheanga” Averill recently when the band played at the Metalfest festival in Austria on May 29, and the video can be watched above.

Blame the drummer

Have you ever wondered just who it is that is to blame for Trivium still being in existence? I mean, the band surely should have ceased to exist years ago. Any band that markets themselves as the next Metallica better have something damn special to back up those claims. Trivium did not.

So just who is to blame? Well, according to a recent interview, the change of drummer saved the band. So blame the new guy, Nick Augusto, if it wasn’t for him Trivium would be dead and we’d all be happy not having to listen to their music. Damn you, Nick Augusto! *waves fist in the air*

Hopefully they get the old drummer back.

More Down at Download news

I guess it’s a good day for Down fans this miserable Monday morning, with this being the second post in a row on Down.

The band played the UK’s Download festival over the weekend, and a video interview with Kirk Windstein and Jimmy Bower can be found above.

Not much else to say, Blabbermouth managed to turn this news into an entire essay, I on the other hand cannot be fucked, so just press play. What I will say though, is I was lucky to see Down at Download 2009 and they kicked ass, so I’m willing to bet Download festival goers this year had a great time. If only Linkin Park didn’t headline… Or Def Leppard… Or System of a Down… Or… Nevermind.
