Tuesday Trivia: Long, longer, longest

Manowar

Last week, I promised you guys a proper metal trivia. Well, here we are, I’m almost past my deadline, and I needed to figure out something fast. So, where do I turn in times like these?

Easy, Manowar. They’re easy enough to take a cheap uninteligable laugh at, they’re metal enough to make your average metalhead happy, and they have plenty of trivia for me to exploit. So, make the jump, and beware, the following article makes plenty use of the following words: Manowar, long, longer, longest and coming. See, its writing itself.

So, how long in average is the penis of a Manowar member? Yeah, that never gets old, right (except it does), just like I never stop being funny (except I obviously do).

What this article is about, is in fact quite interesting. Did you know that in 2008, Manowar actually managed to beat the Guiness World Record for the longest heavy metal concert, ever? Well, they did! Coming in incredible 5 hours, 1 minute, these guys managed to beat the record previously set by… Manowar themselves, a year earlier. Ha! Double dose of trivia, and a double dose of awesome.

I know what you thinking, we all have a few friends who listen to techno, and they all claim that they’ve listened to DJ sets that lasted for the entire night (or more) and how they only needed like a handful of ecstasy pills and a shitload of cocaine to do it. Well, guess what, smartass, a DJ set is not a concert, and techno is not music, so fuck them. Be proud of your beloved Manowar, because many younger bands can barely take the stage for an hour, let alone five.

Here’s what fellow journalists had to say about the show:

The performance – all five hours and one minute of it – was the metal band’s attempt to break the world record for the longest heavy metal concert, which they themselves set in 2007 at last year’s edition of the (Bulgarian Kariakra Rock) festival. That performance was just three hours (sissies). At this year’s show, invited representatives of Guinness World Records were on hand to witness the event.

And here’s a nice video. Happy?
