My Thoughts On: Rammstein

First off, this is kind of a new format we’d like to write. “My Thoughts On” is exactly what it says, we post our thoughts, our personal opinions about a subject and I’m starting with Rammstein.

Why Rammstein of all bands, you might ask. Well, you’ll understand why within the first couple of sentences. Let’s get it on after the jump.

We’re 5 days into the new year and I can’t help myself but reflect the past year. 2010 brought us a lot of good music and a lot of sad news. Legends died, other legends released new music. The circle of life, sometimes it’s bittersweet.

Who's to blame for Sepultura not reuniting?

Does anyone even remember the old, the one true, Sepultura? You know, that band that featured both Cavalera brothers. No, not Cavalera Conspiracy, even though that’s how Sepultura should sound like nowadays.

Do young metalheads, who got into heavier music because of Soulfly’s work with Fred Durst, even know that Max Cavalera used to be a Death Metal vocalist? Yes, seriously.

Now, who’s to blame for Sepultura not reuniting? Who’s to blame that we’re not getting great music, instead of awful albums about A Clockwork Orange?

Make the jump to see what Max Cavalera thinks about said situation.

The main difference between Black and Death Metal is…

Black Metal and Death Metal. Two of the most prominent Extreme Metal genres (the most prominent being Thrash Metal), which both still haven’t been properly introduced to the mainstream audience.

To most non-metalheads Black and Death Metal are probably the same but there are lots of differences between these two. I’m not talking about church burnings and murders, or self-mutilating and wishing for everyone to committ suicide. I’m also not talking about the actual music, which is way different though. Just listen to Immortal and then listen to Cannibal Corpse and tell me they sound the same.

In my opinion, the main difference between Black and Death Metal is… (make the jump)
