Dimmu Borgir got interviewed.

Slow news this weekend, and very lazy writers… So I’m gonna post a bunch of video interviews cause they require little to no effort on my part.

Justice Leauge of Deathgrind

Shane Embury

We’ve made fun of supergroups before on Dose of Metal, so I thought hard about milking that cow once again. Well, I’m lying. I barely though at all, and was just looking for an excuse to write something for the site.

This time around, we really do have a gem. Justice Leauge of Deathgrind, otherwise known as Lock Up, have had their founding member, Shane Embury (the dude from Napalm Death) interviewed by some guys, and he talks about the band and what not. Apparently, they’ve had a new album come out last month, it’s called “Necropolis Transparent,” and he also discusses the band’s somewhat rotating lineup which includes people who put together will maybe some day be as famous as that clip of my cute cat that went viral at one point.

I am messing witchallz of course, the band has been around for quite a while, and Shane is an awesome guy, so I honestly recommend you make the jump, find out about the current and past members, and hear the album preview. It sounds pretty much like the perfect grind — the one you can actually listen to. Oooooh snap.

Dimmu Borgir post Dimmu Borgir

Dimmu Borgir have posted a new video for their imaginatively titled song, Dimmu Borgir (guess they’ve run out of ideas).

Is the video any good? I have no idea, I didn’t watch it, and no it has nothing to do with my dislike for gothic drag queens attempting to write music. No, it seems that the video is blocked in my country. If you’re from a country that doesn’t suck, try watching the video after the jump.

Some headlines, yo

Anthrax have a new song, which they performed live with Joey (pictured above). A decent clip of it from Chile, after the jump.

If you like Dimmu Borgir and you want to check out their full Atlanta gig, from November 10th, you’re in luck. You can find it here.

(Super) Mario Duplantier of Gojira has an art show. The good news is that it’s free. The bad news is that it’s in Bordeaux, France. More info here.

Jörg Michael of Stratovarius has cancer. Their keyboardist, Jens Johansson, wrote an update on their official site.

A message for Dimmu Borgir: Snow is white

Dimmu Borgir vocalist Shagrath either doesn’t know the color of snow, or is trying to convey a subtle anti-racist statement in a metaphor. Here’s what he answers in a recent interview:

Chicago Tribune: What is it about Norway that allows so many black metal bands to flourish?

Shagrath: Mainly it’s a way of thinking. It could be environment. We live in a very dark country where we have a lot of snow. It’s a small country but a lot of bands are able to think outside the box, and not be copycats.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you live in a country with a lot of snow, isn’t the country technically ‘light’? I mean think about it, snow is white, a lot of snow means a lot of white. Where does the ‘dark’ part come in?
