Patrik Johansson is absolute workaholic! You may be familiar with his singing with his bands Astral Doors and Wuthering Heights here he is now with Lions Share. He seems eager to sing both with fury and melody and combine both magically. With songs such as "Cult Of Denial", "The Arsonist", "Emotional Coma" featuring Megadeth's Glenn Drover and "The Edge Of The Razor" featuring KISS’s Bruce Kulick rise to the top of the songs on this CD and the closing track is none other than a cover of Angel Witch's "Sorcerers."
Lions Share delivers a classic traditional album with hard driven riffs and plenty of lead solos thown into the mix. The guitars are in your face, edgy and yet melodic with no lack of aggression! Straight ahead melodic metal with a nod to the Old School.
Johansson has a powerful voice with a lot of rangethats been compared to Ronnie James Dio. He has the ability to sing the lower ranges with an edge yet without a loss of emotion, and then turnaround and pierce your ears with his higher pitched power.
