Megadeth will sell more copies than Metallica

To say that Megadeth was always inferior to Metallica in terms of commercial success would be the understatement of the century.

But Dave can finally say he beat Metallica, because according to projections, Lulu is about to sell around 12-15.000 copies in its first week, whilst Th1rt3en is projected to sell about three times that amount: 40-45.000.

Too bad they're friendly now, huh? A few years ago, hilarity would have ensued, although I'm expecting Dave to throw a few subtle jabs here and there. Metallica have finally succeeded to release an album that is so bad, even their diehard fans refuse to buy it. Reality hits you hard, bro.

This isn't all bad news, right? You'd think this would be the perfect wake-up call for the band. WRONG! Here's what Kirk Hammett had to say about Lulu:

"I think it's one of the best things we've ever done. I say that from a pure musical standpoint. I'm not saying that from a heavy metal fan's point of view. I love it. I can't say enough about how great I think it is."

Really? I could understand saying 'We're proud of it, it's good' to save face, but to go as far as saying it's the best they've ever done... Jeez.

But hey, at least Lars may have some sanity left, right? Wrong:

"We knew what we were getting in bed with. We became soulmates. We just bonded. I'm aware of his reputation, but he treats me with respect. "

I'm not even gonna make a few gay jokes about the quote above, I am speechless, really.

  1. Lars may have finally lost it with no possibility of parole. Check this out: “This is something they’ve never heard. Nobody hears rhythms or delivers poetry the way Lou does. It’s not for everyone, but I think it’s a fantastic record.” …Right. Lou Reed hears rhythms. And delivers poetry. Like no other… well, he got that part right. And, to top, that, Reed has somehow alluded to the possibility of doing this shit again… “No-one wants ‘Lulu Part 2′, but on Radio Lou, in my head where I hear these songs, I want more of it”
